"For many years our company, a Small "in-vitro" Diagnostic Company, used an old system for administrative and operational management. In the last years the requirements in the implementation of total quality systems, primarily the "Good Manufacturing Practice" or GMP were doing in our system an obsolete tool. Each year more and more decisions were made based on an extensive manual labor that could not be obtained from the system in use.

The search for an ERP that could suit our needs, and supplement GMP standards required by the FDA and ANMAT administrations was transformed into something of an urgent decision. Many systems that fited what we were looking for escaping the potential of our small business. The OpenERP was analyzed, evaluated and accepted to perform some tests. The company chosen to help us was Thymbra, the official representative for OpenERP in Argentina, and with extensive experience in ERPs.

It was implemented a test platform, and quickly implemented the Manufacturing and Purchasing modules. After a test period it was decided to implement the Sales, Werehouse and Accounting modules, and put the system on production. It was needed electronic billing, a module that Thymbra developed for our country. Today the results are excellent, we managed a quick transition, our staff are adapting very quickly.

The Thymbra assistance at every stage and final adjustments have helped us to overcome every step in a way more quickly and efficiently. The work continues and the modules of CRM and BI are the next steps to implement in the coming months, led by Thymbra and the extensive experience in OpenERP."

"In Cadbury Stani we have used Thymbra Remote Administration services since 2001 with very good results. The main objective we were aiming when we outsourced this service was to maintain under control the SAP system environment, including all its resources: Operating System, Database and Application's kernel.

When dealing with mission critical environments, it is essential the preventive control of each and every one of the variable that are involved in the platform in order to avoid downtimes that can affect the continuity of the business. "INDUSTRIAS SECCO is synonymous of leadership, competitivness and permanent renewal. In the last 3 years the company has incorporated SAP as its ERP, with the objective of optimizing its business management. The implementation was done in two SUN Enterprice 250 servers (production and development / parametrization), Solaris 7 and Oracle 8.

Reasons for Linux Migration (SAP heterogeneous copy) After these last years of growth, we decided to realize a servers upgrade, using the Intel servers and compatible (x86) because we wanted to get to a model of processor more standard and reduce the costs of maintenance and support. In order to achieve all this, after evaluating various alternatives available in the market and after attending an event organized by Thymbra and Red Hat about the performances of the new SAP kernel, we have decided to get fot the SUN servers with AMD Opteron processors of 64bits with Red Hat Linux Enterprise 3.

After making an exhaustive evaluation of all the companies that could carry out this task of heterogeneous migration, we selected THYMBRA for their expertise that has demonstrated in similar projects and for the of estimated times, deciding furthermore, during the negotiation, the upgrade from version 4.6 to 4,7, everything in a single step. Record time in the migration (heterogeneous copy) and Upgrade process.

The project started at the beginning of February, with the Linux migration and then the version upgrade in this environment. At the end of March all the tests needed to make sure the success of the project were done. The final jobs were started a Friday at 6 p.m. And on Saturday at 5 p.m. We already had in the new servers the migrated system with the upgrade to the v 4.7. All this was done remotely, without presence in the company. By Sunday al noon, all the patches were applied, even the last version was released and the transports from the changes made during the trials in order to stabilize the environment. On Monday we could operate the company normally, the project was a complete success, we are finishing it now by installing another Server Stand By in another location, different from the one of the main site, for physical or logical contingencies."
